Tell us about you (What drives you)

I’m Kano’s data guy, helping us to understand how kids use our products so that we can make them better. I enjoy working on a wide variety of different technical challenges and learning new technologies.

Tell us a fun fact about you

When I was about 5 I wasn’t massively well coordinated/balanced so my parents thought I could benefit from ballet classes. This wasn’t really my thing as at that time I was in my dinosaur phase and was promptly expelled from the class after being a velociraptor at the end-of-year show.

What is your biggest fear?

Contracting myiasis

Why did you join Kano?

While starting to teach myself coding and data skills at the tender age of 25, (after doing a History degree and then managing to finagle my way into an engineering career) Kano is the product I wish that 6-year-old me could have had.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Being able to touch type at 120 words a minute

If you could give your younger self 1 piece of advice, what would it be?

Wake up earlier

What is the single most valuable thing you’ve ever learned?

Nothing is permanent.

My secret passion is…/ guilty pleasure

Guilty pleasure — Babymetal

In the next 5 years, the biggest thing I want to achieve is…

Forbes 40 under 40 and complete my gaming backlog

What is something most people don’t know about you?

My grandfather was born in the 19th century and my family has consistently had a pattern of having kids very late in life going back through the generations, so I reckon I am less evolved than most people.
